There was 3 games yesterday but I didn’t have a tip.

I had said that I liked the Canes to win but it would have to be in regulation so I dodged a bullet with this one when they won 3-2 in a shootout.

I expected the Wings vs Sabres game to be a close one.  Well that wasn’t the case as the Sabres won 8-3.  Tage Thompson had a game scoring a hat trick and adding 3 assists.  The Sabres outshot the Wings 46-18.

The final game of the night was the Kings vs the Blues.  I had said I was leaning towards a Blues win but couldn’t back them with their play of late.  Well their rough play continued in this game as the Kings won 5-1.

A busy night with 12 games.

Knights vs Capitals

The Knights have been good this season.  I wasn’t sure how they would do with Lehner out for the season but they have been fine with Thompson and Hill.  They are 8-2 and in 1st place in the Pacific.

The Caps lost last night to the Canes in a shootout.  They are a team that have the players to do damage in any game but are missing some pieces.

I would lean towards a Knights win but it would have to be in regulation and against the Caps it makes it tricky.

Sens vs Lightning

The Sens have lost their last 2 games and their last 3 road games.  The Lightning have won their last 2 games.

With the Lightning at home they are favored here.  The Sens have been decent this year but they are on the road where they have gone 0-3.  And Norris is out which will hurt their depth. The Lightning haven’t played much at home this season but we know they are a strong home team.

Lightning in regulation

Flyers vs Rangers

The Flyers lost their last game but are still a respectable 5-2-1.  The Rangers have won their last 2 games but are riding a 3 game home losing streak into this game.

The Rangers are turning into, at least for me, a tough team to try and predict.  They have a great roster but just can’t seem to put it all together.   The Flyers have outperformed the expectations people had for them.  I have to skip this one.

Bruins vs Penguins

The Bruins have been playing amazing.  They are 8-1 and have won the last 5 games. With Marchand returning and it didn’t look like he missed anytime the Bruins are that much more deadly.

The Penguins are slumping at the moment dropping their last 4 and have been outscored 18-6 across those games.

The Bruins are ranked 1st in GPG and 2nd in GAPG.   I have to follow the trend here and back the Bruins.

Canadiens vs Wild

The Habs are on a 2 game win streak after beating the Blues and the Sabres.  Christian Dvorak scored a hatty for the Habs in their game against the Blues.

After losing their first 3 games, and badly, the Wild have gone 4-1-1.

I was thinking of taking the Wild here but it would need to -1.5 and with the way they have played defense this season I don’t have enough confidence in that play

Islanders vs Blackhawks

The Isles have won 3 in a row and the Hawks have lost 3.  On the road the Isles are 1-2, at home the Hawks are 3-1-1.

The Hawks are without Seth Jones who will miss about a month with a thumb injury.

I would lean towards an Isles win but they don’t seem to have any luck in Chicago where they have lost 8 of the last 10 there.

Kings vs Stars

The Kings won last night for their 2nd in a row,  the Stars lost their last game 6-3 to the Rangers.

The Kings are 4-2 on the road and the Stars are 3-1 at home.

With the Kings playing last night I would give the edge to the Stars.  But they are without Oettinger so Wedgwood is expected to start.  Skipping this one

Predators vs Oilers

The Preds won their first two games in Prague but have gone 1-5-1 since.   The Oilers are on a 4 game win streak beating the Hawks, Blues, Pens and Flames.

The Oilers have been a better road team then home team going 3-0 on the road and 3-3 at home.

I still am reluctant to tip a game involving the Preds.

Kraken vs Flames

The Kraken have been better than expected.  I know it’s still early but they are 4-4-2 and in 4th in the Pacific.  The Flames lost their last game to the Oilers but are 5-2 on the year and in 3rd in the Pacific.

The Flames have played only 1 game this season where they weren’t at home.  I like the Flames chances here but it would have to be -1.5 and the Kraken have shown that they can hang with the strong teams having already beaten the Sabres,  Avalanche and Penguins.

Panthers vs Coyotes

The Panthers are 5-3-1.  They have been decent but once Ekblad and eventually Duclair get back they will be set.

The Coyotes are on a 2 game losing skid, both games were the first at their new home.

To get any value here we would need to take the Panthers -1.5.  They have had 5 games decided by a single goal already so I have to pass.

Devils vs Canucks

After losing their first 7 games of the season the Canucks have won 2 in a row.  I’m sure they are looking forward to a new month and try and get as far away from that terrible October they had.

The Devils have been amazing.  They are still rebuilding but look like a team ready to make a push.  They are 6-3, on a 3 game win streak, first place in the Metro and 3rd overall.

The Canucks have lost seven of their last nine games and two of their last three home games so all signs point to a Devils win.

Devils win incl OT/SO

Ducks vs Sharks

Either team has been very good so far.

The Ducks are 2-6-1 and are on the road where they have gone 0-5-1.  The Sharks are 3-8 and are at home where they have gone 1-5.

There is nothing from this game I like.  It’s hard to predict a game when both teams are struggling.  The Ducks suck on the road, the Sharks suck at home.

Easy skip for me

If Demko is starting for Vancouver, my play will be on the Devils -110. If it’s Spencer Martin I will lay-off. Curious to see if the Devils impressive play continues on their first real road trip. Not so much as wins and losses but whether the underlying stats continue to be so dominant in their favor.

Western RattlersD

Full game OVER 5.5: Chicago
To WIN moneyline: Oilers
Lean to WIN moneyline: Devils

New Jersey is looking great but their trip west needs careful attention as they play the Oilers next and then Calgary twice in a row. The whole Eastern Conference is generally tight, so they’ll want the two points from Vancouver and are well rested.
Chicago and the Islanders should gravitate to 6 goals, so Over 5.5 seems like an easy choice. Chicago takes the most penalties of all teams in the league and their penalty killing sucks. Voila.
The Oilers are looking good, have an excellent powerplay. Nashville are playing clearly sub-par, have a poor powerplay and are on the road. Oilers are rested, at home, they win.

Bolts..They were so awful but still got the win lol

Congrats to anyone getting the Bruins win. Personally didn’t bet it but doing a score check while at work saw it when it was 5-2 and wrote it off and assumed that was a wrap. Getting home and figuring out which two games to throw on first was surprised to see them grab the win. For all the times u take a side and feel good about it only to watch that team and your cash crash and burn, it’s nice to see one go the other way for anyone out there that got the win.
