No tips yesterday.

The Lightning beat the Capitals 3-2.  The loss ended the Capitals 8 game season opening point streak.  I had thought about going with the over but stayed away and I’m glad I did.

The Blackhawks beat the Sens 5-1.  Kane returned to the lineup and scored the hat trick and added an assist and Hagel scored the other 2 goals. Another game where I was leaning towards the Sens but stayed away. I knew it was only a matter of time until the Hawks finally picked up their first win of the year.

The final game of the night was the Kraken vs the Oilers.  The Oilers won 5-2.  If we had taken the Oilers -1.5 it was a win but only for 2.00 Odds which were too low for me.

For today we have a full night of action with 9 games.  Running short on time so I’ll only go over the games I’m tipping for today.  If you are looking for some analysis of a certain game, be sure to post in the comments and we can answer there.

Rangers vs Canucks Betting Tips:

The Rangers have won their last 2 games and are 6-2-1 on the season.  The Canucks have dropped their last 3 and are 3-5-1 on the season.   On the road the Rangers are 5-1, at home the Canucks are 0-3.

With the records of both teams home and away I feel like I have to take the Rangers in this one.

If the Canucks show up and pick up the win then so be it, but I feel like the Rangers should win this game and it’s worth the risk.

Rangers win incl OT/SO

Coyotes vs Flyers Betting Tips:

With the Flyers at home I like their chances in this one against the still winless Coyotes. They are 6th in GPG with 3.57

The Coyotes are 0-8-1 on the year and are last in the league in GPG with 1.44 and also last in the league in GAPG with 4.22.  Over their last 6 games they have scored only 6 goals.

The Coyotes are without Hutton, Galchenyuk, Schmaltz and Dzingel due to injury so that only helps the Flyers in this game

Flyers in regulation

Predators vs Flames Betting Tips:

The Predators are 4-4 and have won 3 straight.   The Flames are 6-1-1 winning their last 6 in a row.

The Flames have played only 2 games at home this year and I think the Calgary fans will be loud and cheering on their home team and they deserve it for the run they are currently on.

Markstrom has been great this year going 4-1-1 with a 1.33 GAA and a .957 save percentage.

Flames in regulation if Markstrom starts

1st period system says to play the Rangers (tie = push) at 1.86 odds tonight.

It feels there is value on Vegas 2.40 (tie = push) but with the injuries not sure I like that one myself.

It also likes over 1.5 in Sens vs Wild. 1.86 for that one.

Detroit at +1.0, absolutely, and to WIN ML and maybe at -1.0. Maybe all three bets at graded “unit” outputs.
Considering Detroit’s competition so far, and the game results, now going against the Habs on two days off, I have to see Detroit taking this game, certainly at +1.0 (1.69!), but even as likely winning the game flat out for far higher betting odds (2.89 in regulation, and 3.49 for -1.0). The odds given by bookies don’t make sense here. Wings have a day off before playing in Boston (great seafood), so won’t be worried or fatigued for tonight.
Also considering: Philly PL, Van Under 6.0.

Agreed with S&G picks

Hey good to have you on here!

With Scott in a rush yesterday, we primarily focused on the three games he liked when we chatted about the tips, and one other possibility (Leafs). I never had a chance to look at Sabres vs Sharks or the others at all yesterday due to time constraints so can’t really tell you my thoughts pre-game.

Having a quick look at it now it seems like that was a good bet even if it didn’t work out this time.

We did discuss Jets briefly. They are just a team it is very hard to trust at the moment. That last Sharks game was a frustrating one. Glad it worked out for ya. That’s the sort of performance I was hoping for from them against San Jose.
