Only two games yesterday.

The Devils beat the Hawks 4-2.  This was the Devils 6th win in their last 8.  They are now without Jack Hughes who was hurt in Friday’s game and Hischier has missed the last 4.  With those two players out they are now looking for players to step up.  Mercer centered the top line and scored his first of the season.

The Ducks beat the Knights 4-2 and this was the Knights 1st loss in regulation.   The Ducks are on fire right now winning their last 6 games.  They were down 2-0 heading into the 3rd where they scored 3 times and added an empty net for the win.

4 games tonight.

Jackets vs Panthers Betting Tips:

The Jackets are 4-4-2 and on a 3 game road losing skid.

The Panthers are 5-4-1 and are at home where they have gone 3-1.

Both teams are ranked low in GPG but in the top half of the league in shots per game.  The Panthers are ranked better defensively.  They are 8th in GAPG with 2.80 and 5th in SOGA with 28.2, the Jackets 16th and 22nd.

With the Jackets road record of 1-2-1 they aren’t exactly a team that gives me any confidence.  The Panthers have won their last 2 games at home.

I would say I like the Panthers to win but they aren’t a team we can back with confidence.

Lightning vs Maple Leafs Betting Tips:

Big game between two strong teams from the Atlantic.  The Lightning are in 3rd going 5-3-3 and the Leafs 4th going 5-4-2.

The Lightning are 7th in GPG and the Leafs 15th, Lightning 20th in shots Leafs 7th.  Both are tied for 20th in GAPG and the Lightning are 28th in SAPG and the Leafs 20th.

The Lightning have been riding Johansson with Vasilevskiy out and he has been doing alright going 5-1-3 with a 2.87 GAA and a .916 save percentage.

Tough to call.  The Lightning have a 1-3-1 road record and the Leafs have a 2-3 home record.

I want to go over but it’s the standard 6.5 and the stats don’t back that up.  Probably best to skip this one.

Bruins vs Stars Betting Tips:

Another game with two strong teams.

The Bruins are 9-1-1 and in 1st in the Atlantic,  the Stars are 7-2-1 and in 1st in the Central.

Both teams are in the bottom half of the league in GPG and defensively they are similar with the Bruins ranked 1st in GAPG with 1.91 and the Stars 5th with 2.50.

It’s tough to try and predict a winner here.  The Bruins road record is 4-1 and the Stars home record is 3-1.  The Bruins are coming into this game off of their 1st regulation loss of the season so that may give them the motivation for this road game.  The Stars had their 3 game win streak snapped in their last outing so they will also want to get back on track.

I just feel with both coming into this one off of losses it’s tough to call and I’m skipping.

Oilers vs Canucks Betting Tips:

The Oilers are a heaping pile of shit right now.  The have lost their last 2 games and are 2-7-1 on the year.  They are ahead of only the Sharks in the Pacific and the league.  They can’t seem to score either ranking 23rd in GPG and when the team has Draisaitl and McDavid that’s not acceptable.

The Canucks are having a good to start to the season.   They have won three straight and are 8-2-1 and in 2nd in the Pacific.  They lead the league in GPG with 4.36 and are in 2nd in GAPG with 2.00.

The Canucks are at home where they have gone 4-0-1 so I would like to think they based on all of the stats listed above this game is theirs to win.  But for the Oilers they got their season started on the wrong foot when they lost their first 2 games to these Canucks.  The Oilers may see this as an opportunity to get some revenge and try to right the ship against the team the started their season off with two losses.

I want to take the Canucks but they are scoring way more than they should and the Oilers are creating chances they just can’t score.

Leans only:
Full game UNDER 7.0: Boston/Dallas
Vancouver to WIN

Canucks are having great performances on offense and defense. Commentators on radio saying that McDavid looks like he may have a lingering minor injury that’s keeping him from having that clear performance edge. But the Oilers are loaded with offense, which doesn’t explain why in 5 of their last 10 games they’ve scored 2 or fewer goals. Canucks just shut out Dallas and put on great defense as well as score. If Edmonton doesn’t improve (suddenly), Canucks will take this on the puckline at great odds. Canucks at home.

Boston/Dallas should be lower on goals, but I wouldn’t take anything less than 6 goals, so this is very IFFY.

Debating a parlay of Vancouver +1.5 with Dallas game Under 7.0. Probably a no-bets day.
