5 games yesterday and we won our tip but it wasn’t a stress free watch thats for sure.

Had the Rangers to beat the Coyotes in regulation.  This was much closer than I thought it would be.   It was tied at 1-1 at the start of the 3rd and thankfully Trochek scored on the powerplay at about 8 minutes into the period and they held on for the 2-1 win.

Had to keep my phone plugged in with the amount of texts I was getting from Leaf fans.  But it was so worth it when the Hawks beat them 4-1.

The Flames were up 2-0, the Caps tied it and picked up their first win 3-2 in a shootout.  And the Panthers won their first of the season when they beat the Devils 4-3.  The final game of the night saw the Wings beat the Jackets 4-0 with Reimer making 23 saves in the shutout.

9 games tonight and the odds are pretty brutal for most games.

Canucks vs Flyers Betting Tips:

It’s hard to bet against the Canucks in this one.   They are 2-0 beating the Oilers twice by a combined 12-4 score.

The Flyers are 1-1 beating the Jackets and losing to the Sens.

The Cancucks have some tough games coming up with the Lightning and Panthers the next two.  They need to keep the momentum going to help them get through this stretch.

This is the Flyers home opener so I don’t think I can tip this game.

Wild vs Canadiens Betting Tips:

The Wild are 1-1.  In their last game they couldn’t keep pace with Matthews and the Leafs.

The Habs are 1-0-1 losing in a shootout to the Leafs and then beating the Hawks.

The Wild should use this game to get back into the win column against a Habs team who isn’t going to win many games this year.  Fleury is getting the start for the Wild.

I want to take the Wild here but it would have to be in regulation.   It’s only 2 games but the Habs haven’t lost in regulation yet and are at home here so they may be able to keep it close.

Lightning vs Sabres Betting Tips:

The Lightning have dropped their last 2 games.  After this game they head home for the next 5 games.

The Sabres are 0-2 and haven’t yet got their offense going.  They scored a lot last season but have only put up 3 over the two losses.

The Lightning must be excited to be home for a while but they need to pick up points when they can.  This should be a game that they win but the Sabres are due to go
on a tear.  The odds for this game are really close and the over/under is 7.  I have no idea who wins.

Coyotes vs Islanders Betting Tips:

Coyotes played last night and lost to the Rangers.

The Isles are 1-0 and haven’t played since Saturday.

I really don’t know enough about these teams this early in the season.  So it’s a skip for me.

Kings vs Jets Betting Tips:

Could be interesting game here with Dubois now on the Kings and Vilardi and Iafallo on the Jets.  I’m sure the Jets fan will let Dubois hear it all night after he asked for a trade after doing the same thing to Columbus a few years ago.

The Kings are 0-1-1 after opening the season against two of the leagues best in the Avalanche and Hurricanes.

The Jets are 1-1.  They beat the Panthers in their last game and Scheifele fought Tkachuk.  He’s not a fighter but it should be a wake up call to the rest of the Jets when a skill player is willing to drop the gloves to help the team, he actually had a Gordie Howe hat trick in that game.

Oilers vs Predators Betting Tips:

The Oilers really need to get their shit together.   They are 0-2 and have scored only 4 goals.  When they have McDavid and Draisaitl that’s not acceptable.

The Preds are 1-2 and have had a rough schedule to open the year with games against the Lightning, Kraken and Bruins.

I would say the Oilers win this game but they are in a slump to start the year and sometimes teams have a hard time digging themselves out.  They put too much pressure on that win that affects their play.  They can’t afford to go 0-3.  The odds a low but right at our minimum.

Avalanche vs Kraken Betting Tips:

The Avs are 2-0 but haven’t looked super strong.  Although they did take 51 shots in their last game, a 2-1 shootout win against the Sharks.

The Kraken are 0-2-1 losing to the Knights, Preds and Blues.  They have only scored two goals over their 3 games.  But this is their home opener so they may have a better effort in front of their home fans.

I want to take the Avs here for obvious reasons but with them at home maybe the Kraken will find the offense that’s been missing.  Home opener so I’m skipping.

Stars vs Knights Betting Tips:

This should be a good game between two of the better teams in the West.

The Stars are 1-0 beating the Blues 2-1 in a shootout to start the season.

The Knights are 3-0 but haven’t really had the hardest schedule so far with wins against the Kraken, Sharks and Ducks.  So this game is their first real test of the season.

I want to take the Knights while they are on this win streak.  But this is the first team that could cause them problems that they have faced so far this year.

Hurricanes vs Sharks Betting Tips:

The Canes are 2-1 after losing their last game to the Ducks 6-3.  They have been scoring a bunch this season with 14 goals over the 3 games.

The Sharks are 0-1-1 having played the Knights and Avs.  The schedule doesn’t get any easier for them with the Bruins, Preds, Panthers and Lightning coming up next.

Would have to take the Canes -1.5.  I’m worried that with one of their wins needing a shootout and the Sharks just took the Avs to a shootout that maybe it’s better to just avoid this game.

Lean: Full game UNDER 6.5: Dallas@Vegas

Season-start jitters. So many teams trying out new players and adjusting lines, I see little of anything running steadily yet, and betting anything is a tough commit. Others I’m looking at are full game Unders at Minnesota and Over with Vancouver@Philly.

What the heck is going on in Edmonton and Buffalo? I’m actually expecting Buffalo to get their offense going far sooner than the Oilers resolve their defensive nightmare. Oilers must make substantial trades, on defense to start with. Skinner’s OK to keep.

Colorado MacKinnon to score +105

and Mackinnon under 4.5 shots +120

Dunno if my logic is correct on this but I feel at least one of these two should cash with the potential of both cashing. My logic is that if MacKinnon takes 5 or more shots it’s highly likely that he scores. Also with his shot total set so high there is a good chance of him scoring and still going under the shot total. Getting plus money on both is good value to me.

No plays on any games though I was close to pulling the trigger on a couple. I still feel there may be slight value on Vegas at -102. I rank these as equal teams currently so getting Vegas as an underdog at home has some value to it I think. I also feel Dallas only playing one game and not having played since the 12th could be a slight negative in this spot. Haven’t made a bet on Vegas yet and it will prolly be a stay away for me today.
