Another good night with the tips as we went 1-0.

We had the Hurricanes to beat the Leafs if Andersen started for the Canes.  Andersen got the start and he beat his old team when the Canes won 4-1.  With the win Carolina is now 5-0 on the year.

Oshie scored a hat trick and Ovechkin scored twice and the Caps beat the Sens 7-5.  The Sabres continue to surprise and they upset the defending champion Lightning 5-1.

The Blues went with Husso in goal and he picked up the shutout when they beat the Kings 3-0.  The Panthers beat the Coyotes 5-3 and with the win the Panthers are now 6-0, the Coyotes are now 0-5-1.

Another good night of hockey with 7 games so let’s get to it.

Lightning vs Penguins Betting Tips:

Some people will be be betting on the Lightnign to win this game as they think they are due for a big win.

The Penguins are really getting hit with the injuries at the moment.  They will be without Crosby, Malkin, Carter, Letang and Rust.

The Lightning will also be without some guys as Kucherov and Maroon are both out.

With the way the Penguins have been able to play without their 2 best players is crazy and they are at home where they have gone 2-0-1.  And the odds for a Pens win make this a play for us.

Wild vs Canucks Betting Tips:

The Wild have had a good start to the year going 4-1

This is the Canucks home opener and I expect them to have a good game.  Canucks megafans the Larscheiders will be there and the Canucks will be feeding off of those loyal maniacs.

I also like the Over 5.5 but with it being the home opener I like the win more.

Flames vs Devils Betting Tips:

Both teams have had good starts to the season.

The Flames are riding a 3 game road win streak into this one.  The Devils are 3-1 but their 3 wins came against the winless Hawks, the Kraken and the Sabres.

I would be leaning towards a Flames win but with the Flames playing last night I’ll skip this one

Knights vs Avalanche Betting Tips:

Neither team has been very good this year results wise.  The Knights are without so many key players that it’s hard to back them and the Avalanche are heavy favorites.   If both teams were healthy then this would have been a great game to watch but I am skipping this one.

Sharks vs Predators Betting Tips:

The Sharks have been surprise so far this season.  They have gone 4-1 including wins against the Jets and Leafs.

The Predators are 2-4 but did pick up a win in their last game when they beat the Wild 5-2.

I originally was leaning towards the Over in this game but both teams are in the middle of a rebuild to a certain extent so I’ll skip this one.

Jets vs Ducks Betting Tips:

The Jets are riding a two game win streak into this one, the Ducks are on a 3 game losing skid.

I like the Jets to win but the odds for that are only around 1.70 so it’s not worth it and not enough confidence in them to win in regulation.

Canadiens vs Kraken Betting Tips:

The Habs picked up their first win of the season so they will look to build off of that.  The Kraken have dropped 4 in a row including their home opener.

With the Kraken at home again they may show up and give the Seattle fans their first win, but the Habs need wins after losing their first 5 games.

Too many questions about this game so I’ll skip it.

Full games OVER 5.5: Kraken and Kanucks
Lean only: to WIN: Avalanche
Both “over” games have good situations for motivation and energy. We know the Knights are ailing, and if the Avalanche show up at home to snag points they really need right now, I think they’ve got the depth to win. Plus, they just beat Tampa and had two days off up in mile-high city, acclimatized to their thin air. But over the last few years, the Avalanche have been one of the most inconsistent performers to watch as a better, in the regular season, so I’m wary of putting cash on that. In the playoffs, suddenly they speed up 75%!

Hi again everyone!
Would love to hear your opinion about over 2.5 goals. I myself really like to play that. Especially in situations, when I am not totally sure will one team win the game, but still have confidence they will (have to say that many times been having bad thoughts when I have picked a team to get over 2.5 goals and they have won 2-1 etc.).
Still for today:
Pens over 2.5 goals. As said in tips and as I said in my comments. Tampa is due for a win, however the way Pens have been playing it is impossible to back Tampa just because they are due for a win (+ they did have a game yesterday). As I said in comments, I think Pens will win, but can’t really get my head around it. That is why Pens over 2.5 goals.
Colorado, Landeskog to get 1 point (at least). Over 2.5 for Colorado is worse than Landeskog to get at least 1 point. Top line, Vegas strugling, (bias) I think Colorado will win, but for me the best is Landeskog at least 1 point. He plays on powerplay, topline… In my view he will get at least one assist.
Sharks over 2.5 goals. This is a tricky, cause I feel like this is the game I could back Sharks OT, however feel like Nashwille at home could surprise. Thats why going for goals for Sharks.
Jets reg. Do not like Ducks and think Jets are a better team. They should win it.
Kraken over 2.5 goals. Yes Montreal did win previous game, but Kraken will be eager to get their first win, and they are not going to go down without a fight. Expect lot of goals in this match and Kraken over 2.5 goals is my pick.
Hard Picks: Pens over 2.5, Landeskog at least 1 point, Sharks over 2.5.
Soft Picks: Sharks over 2.5, Winnipeg reg.

The low odds are what always put me off exploring that too much. I haven’t really given it a lot of thought. I think if it was something I was going to look into backing, I’d try and look to do double bets of over 2.5 goals plays

Alex

Monahan at least 1 point
Flames with OT
Pit – TB under 5,5
Sea ML or over 2,5

I like Flames even if they are b2b

For the life of me I can’t remember if the 1st period system did well on over/unders or not and I can’t find my data at this time. I’ll track that separately.

To Win: 0-1 (-1u)

Knights/Avs over 1.5 goals. 1.74.
