Hey everyone.  I had 3 tips yesterday and went 0-3.

I had the Wild vs Candiens game to go over 6.5.  Well this one certainly didn’t.  It hit 4 when the Wild won 3-1.  This was the first game this season that the Wild didn’t allow at least 4 goals so of course it had to be the game where I went with the over.

Despite the advanced metrics telling me not to, I went with the Sabres to beat the Kraken but the Kraken won 5-1.  The loss stopped the Sabres win streak at 3 games and Dahlin was held with out a goal which stopped his goal streak at 5 games.

I also took the Lightning to beat the Kings but the Kings won 4-2.  The win snapped a 10 game losing streak for the Kings against the Lightning.

The Hawks beat the Panthers 4-2, the Coyotes beat the Jackets 6-3, the Devils beat the Red Wings 6-2 and the Flames beat the Penguins and Huberdeau scored his first as a member of the Flames.

The Knights beat the Sharks 4-2.  Kessel played and set the Ironman record playing in his 990th consecutive game and he scored his 400th career goal too. Like him or not, there is no denying how great that accomplishment is.

A slow night with only 3 games and there is nothing I like enough to make a tip.

Rangers vs Islanders

Both teams are coming into this game after losing their last 3.

The Rangers were beat by the Sharks, Jackets and Avalanche.   The Isles have lost to the Devils, Lightning and Panthers

The Rangers played last night and lost in a shootout, the Islanders haven’t played since Sunday.

It’s tough to call a winner between these two teams as they are both struggling at the moment and have among history and rivalry.

Oilers vs Blues

This is the Oilers first road game of the season and currently are 3-3.  They are coming off of that big comeback win against the Penguins on Monday.

The Blues lost their first game of the season on Monday getting shutout by the Jets 4-0.  This is only the Blues 2nd home game of the season.

These teams played each other on Saturday and it was the Blues winning 2-0.

With the Blues having only played once in St. Louis it’s hard to tell how much, if any, advantage they will get when at home.  They will be looking to get back into the win column.  The Oilers will be looking to build momentum after that big win against the Penguins.

Lightning vs Ducks

The Lightning played, and lost, last night.  The Ducks haven’t played since Sunday.

The Lightning are 3-4 and haven’t looked as good as the can be.  The Ducks have lost 5 straight but this is only their 2nd home game and they won the first there in OT against the Kraken.

The Lightning haven’t been very good and played last night,  the Ducks are obviously in a funk having lost their last 5.

If I had to pick a winner I would lean towards the Lightning but with this only the Ducks 2nd home game its tough.

Thanks Scott, I took it on the chin last night as well. The Kings got sick of losing to the bolts, should’ve seen that coming.

O6 Ducks-Bolts – Situational and tendie factors: Ducks will be like Kings-tired of losing. This will be a game when they will press, against a leaky Bolts team with a likely Elliot in net with his 4.04 GAA. Ducks are bad defensively and Bolts will not want to be at 0-2 on this trip. It may take 3 periods but there will be 7+ goals in this game. (Only if Elliot is in net)

Some days, searching for betting options is like lifting rocks in the Sahara Desert and hoping to find cold beer underneath. Actually, some NBA games don’t look so bad today.

Full game UNDER 6.5: Oilers/Blues
I see no situational factors that suggest this goes wacky in the nets. Blues are a shut-down team and Oilers tend to adjust. Blues have a 100% Penalty Kill so far and take the NHL’s least # of penalties. Oilers won’t want to visit the penalty box tonight. Clean hockey, low goals, low drama. Both play mid-low level teams tomorrow and should be at good effort tonight. I think the 6.5 line is floating above 5.5 or 6.0 only because of the Oilers top players name fame, but St. Louis in the match should have brought down the line. Take advantage.

Tampa really having a rough start, I don’t know what to think of today’s game. They can shut down teams once they’re tuned up, and when’s that happening? And their offensive numbers are Joe Average at best. Gravitating to 5.5, but no idea higher or lower by games end…..

On a tangent topic, everyone get your chips and dip ready for Friday’s Early Halloween; Winnipeg playing the Coyotes in the Coyotes home opener at the university ice fishing hut. Real Halloween is on Monday, but Friday will have some very scary moments.

Rangers/Islanders over 6 at -110
Taking a shot on this being an open offensive game. Two division rivals looking to get off to better starts and get it going battling each other for points. Chance it could be chippy with power play opportunities for both. i know islanders have a perfect pl but that could change vs the rangers above average power play.
