Hopefully we get more exciting games in these finals like Game 1.
Regardless of who we are betting on etc – let’s just hope for more exciting games like that.
I’m traveling this weekend so going to be quick:
Scott: It took Draisaitl 66 seconds to get the scoring started. The Panthers answered with 3 of their own including 2 from Bennett. Draisaitl scored the game winner with 31 seconds left in the first OT. Some players just show up with so much on the line, not only Draisaitl but also Bennett.
The Oilers outshot the Panthers 46-32 and both goalies looked good. Both teams had 51 hits and both scored a powerplay goal. This is going to be a good series with either team giving up.
With the series still in Edmonton for another game before it moves to Florida for a couple I would expect the Panthers to have a big come back game here to even the series up.

Graeme: Conflicted between how close it was and wanting to bet the dogs, and the Oilers and their momentum.
I think I’ll go with what I deem to be an +EV bet – ignoring my gut, Panthers incl OT. Will be a tad upset if my whole momentum betting on the Oilers comes back to bite me here
When Florida gets behind or faces superior talent, they short-circuit. They’re losing, they’ll try their usual juvenile delinquent tactics and take even more penalties, and I’d bet that gets progressively more self-defeating. The Leafs and Carolina weren’t ready for playoff hockey this year, and imploded quickly.
The Oilers were resilient and effective in Game 1, with their eyes wide open and driving to the net, like they have been all year. This is the Finals, not Round 1, and the Oilers are tuned for this.
GAME 2: Oilers win moneyline and play money on the Oilers puckline win.
Several obvious prop bets out there.
CFL: Tor/Mtl full game OVER looks very good.
Only bet today: Mattias Ekholm to score anytime.

Florida up 3-1 in game 1 and loses a 2 goal lead. That they Will not do tonight. They Will close the game down and Take fewer penalties, and let the team play. They know how to close 3-4 player team down and have sufficient Big game players to grab game 2.
