The Tampa Bay Lightning are 1 win away from being the 2020 Stanley Cup Champions.
It was a hard fought and thrilling high scoring game against the Dallas Stars last night with Tampa able to come out on top.
We now have a very quick turnaround with the Lightning and Stars playing tonight.
This could be game over for the Stars which is obviously what we are hoping for due to our Lightning -1.5 series bet.
Here’s our thoughts:
Stars vs Lightning Game 5 Betting Tips:
Graeme: This is another rather unique situation with the game being played so close to the last one. Tampa were the more fatigued team in Game 1 and that affected them. Wonder how it will play out here.
Tampa played a B2B in the Bruins series and ran out 7-1 winners there. The Stars played a B2B against the Avs and lost 6-3, and a B2B against the Flames and lost 2-0.
Not exactly tons of data of course but it’s notable. The Stars going down 3-1 too is a big mental hit for them.
I have a feeling Tampa win here by a decent amount and the -1.5 is tempting but at 2.55 odds it just isn’t worth it. I’d be fine with the Over. It’s possible Dallas don’t show up tonight but with it being the finals I hope they give one big last effort.
Scott: That was a great game. The Stars scored the first 2 goals and the Lightning answered that with 2 of their own. In the end it was the Lightning winning 5-4 in OT.
I had Jamie Benn to have over 2.5 shots and even with the extra time he still only managed 2 shots.
Well now its do or die for the Stars. The Lightning lost the first game but have now won the last 3.
I feel with them playing last night and the game going over we should see a similar result. The Stars know they have to bring everything they have to try and outscore the Bolts. The scores have continued to increase during this series starting with 2 5’s, a 7 and yesterday’s 9. If this is the final game then well done Lightning. After last year you deserve this.
